National Earth Hour Capital Award Given for Jakarta

Jakarta retains the award of National Earth Hour Capital in Earth Hour City Challenge (EHCC) 2016 held by WWF.
Green Building concept is one of ways to adapt with climate change
The award is given for city that able to reduce climate change impact. One of the programs can be run is Green Building concept for buildings and offices.
“Green Building concept is one of ways to adapt with climate change,” said Fitratunnisa, Jakarta Head Board of Preservation and Environmental Management for BPLHD, Thursday (6/23).
Earth Hour will Be Held on Jl. Sudirman-Jl. ThamrinThere are 10 buildings in Jakarta have Green Building certificate such as Public Works and Public Housing Ministry and Sampoerna Square buildings. Moreover, infrastructure development runs this year is able to suppress climate change.
“Public transports such as LRT, MRT, Transjakarta are also able to reduce climate change impact,” she added.
RPTRA construction is also part of EHCC program. All program will be inserted to WWF to retain the award next year.
